Software & Systems Engineer
Building things at the intersection of software and hardware — embedded systems, mobile apps, Linux infrastructure, EV engineering, and beyond.
01 — About
I'm a hands-on engineer and student with a passion for building things that work — from bare-metal hardware through to polished user-facing software. My background spans Linux systems, mobile development, embedded electronics, and competitive EV engineering.
I gravitate toward problems where precision matters: reproducible builds, clean interfaces, and systems that behave exactly as designed. My academic strengths are in Mathematics and Science, and I'm working toward studying Aerospace Engineering at university.
Outside of engineering I stay active in endurance sport — triathlon and field hockey — which keeps me disciplined about incremental improvement and long-term thinking.
02 — Projects
EV Engineering · Competition
Competed in Auckland’s EVOlocity electric vehicle competition with outstanding results. Our team achieved 2nd place overall, 1st in Efficiency, 3rd in Engineering Design, and 2nd in Overall Performance in the Standard Class. The project involved extensive prototyping, systems design, and collaborative problem-solving under competition conditions.
Game Development · Mobile
A mobile game developed in the Godot engine featuring strategy and action elements optimised for touch controls. Built with smooth performance and intuitive UX as core goals, targeting Android and iOS platforms.
Aerospace · Research
Researching and planning aerospace engineering and embedded systems projects aligned with my goal of studying Aerospace Engineering at university. Focus areas include flight dynamics, sensor integration, and embedded control systems.
Mobile · Android
A GPS-based delivery tracking application for Android. Features OSMDroid offline maps, Room-backed persistent run history, automatic street detection via geofencing, and a tap-to-confirm interaction model built for single-handed use on the move.
Hardware · Computer Vision
A custom low-budget 3D scanner built on the OpenScan platform using a Raspberry Pi, stepper motors, and interchangeable camera modules. Evaluating IR ToF sensors and global shutter modules for high-accuracy point cloud capture at a fraction of commercial scanner cost.
Linux · GPU Compute
End-to-end debugging to run DaVinci Resolve with full GPU acceleration on an AMD Radeon RX 6600 under CachyOS/Arch Linux. Resolved ROCm 7.2 compatibility, mesa-git conflicts, ABI mismatches, and Intel OneAPI TBB interference — producing a stable, reproducible setup.
Currently researching and planning new aerospace engineering and coding projects. These upcoming works will focus on fundamental aerospace concepts, flight dynamics, and embedded systems programming as I work toward my goal of studying Aerospace Engineering at university.
